The craft consists of using mud and clay to make pitchers, bowls, plates, lunch boxes and pots. Usually, the potter himself performs the entire production process, from extracting the raw material to marketing at trade shows.
The workshop is installed in an outbuilding near the house or in the same kitchen, always with the oven nearby. The clay is thrown on a potter’s wheel. The most common type is the tall wheel, driven with the foot, but there were also manual lathes in some areas such as Gundivós where the wheel was worked by women.
