Galicia has a longstanding seafaring tradition, reflected in many material and spiritual manifestations.
The old refectory of the convent of Bonaval houses the Sala del Mar (The Sea Gallery), which includes a representative sample of the most unusual boats in Galicia.
The exhibition is complemented by other pieces, designs and models so that one can follow the process of building a fishing boat, see the tools used by shipwrights, learn about primitive engines, the various skills and crafts involved and what species of fish were captured.
